The Town Clerk's Office is the place for Dunbarton residents to visit or contact regarding:

We recognize that your time is valuable.  Many transactions can be initiated and paid for online, or by mail, or drop-off & pick-up, or by a trusted family member or friend.  Please e-mail or call and let us know what you need to accomplish and we can let you know what your options are.

About Forms of Payment:

  • The Town of Dunbarton does not accept credit or debit cards at this time. Payment for services must be in the form of cash or check.

  • When paying by check:
    • Two checks are required for Motor Vehicle transactions:  one check payable to Dunbarton Town Clerk; a second check payable to State of NH-MV.
    • One check is required for all other transactions: payable to Dunbarton Town Clerk.

  • When paying by cash:
When paying cash, kindly try to have close to the correct amount, and pay in smaller bills.  As a rule of thumb when registering a new-to-you vehicle (so you don't know the exact cost), if you carry $100 bills to cover it, have $200 in 20's instead of 100's.  The reason we ask this is that there is not a bank nearby to get change, and we need to make separate deposits to the State and the Town.  So although your total might be $496.40, if you owe $98.40 to the State and $398 to the Town and were to pay in 5 $100 bills, we would need to break 2 of those $100 bills in order to do the deposits, and we don't keep that much cash on hand.  Thank you for your consideration!

Online services include:

  • Motor vehicle registration estimates
  • Motor vehicle renewals
  • Dog license renewals
  • Vital Records (certified copies)

Staff:

Linda L. Landry was the Dunbarton Town Clerk for close to 30 years, and retired in November 2024.  I (Jennifer) would not be able to serve you nearly as well without the systems she has established and the wealth of knowledge that she has passed along.  I am deeply grateful to her.  She will be missed!

Pam Moul, the Deputy Town Clerk in Weare, graciously came in a few days a month, but in March 2025 she became the Town Clerk there in Weare!  Congrats to Pam!

Now we have a new Deputy Town Clerk - Lisa Durant.  And an Assistant Town Clerk - Kim Robertson.  Please welcome them both!
