Janice Van de Bogart, Town Administrator

7:00 p.m.  J.R. called the meeting to order.  Chuck seconded.  Lori Davis, re:  selling donuts at Transfer Station

Lori requested the Board’s approval to sell donuts at the Transfer Station.  She mentioned that Woody Bowne was okay with it.  Chuck asked her when she planned on doing this, but she wasn’t sure yet.  The Board gave her permission.

7:05 p.m. Jan Van de Bogart, re:  upcoming road projects

Jan indicated that the major paving projects for this summer include Twist Hill Rd., Gorham Pond Rd. and the recycling center.  Culverts are needed on Long Pond Rd., Rangeway Rd. and Tenney Hill Rd.

A discussion on making the corner on Long Pond Rd. and Black Brook Rd. into a “T” took place.  J.R. asked Jan to look at and give an estimate of the cost.

The Road Hearing is scheduled for 4/29.

Mert confirmed that the straightening of Robert Rogers Rd. is contingent upon a 20% matching grant requirement and it couldn’t happen until after the next Town Meeting.

 7:25 p.m.  Other Business:

Janice mentioned that the history book is going to print next week and that the cost is expected to exceed the budgeted amount of $15,000 by $1,312.  The Historical Awareness Committee is covering the difference. Payment is 50% now and 50% upon completion of the work.  Chuck asked for an update on presales.

Janice indicated that they received the FEMA claim of $8,784.61 from the State.  Chuck congratulated her on her efforts and success.

Mert mentioned that Margaret Watkins called him and she will be dropping off a letter of concern, re:  Planning Board not posting its meeting on the website and:  the proposed changes to land subdivision control regulations.

Janice indicated that she has bid out for gravel crushing, road striping and paving.

The Board took a sitewalk on this date at 10 a.m. on Jacqueline Drive.  In addition to the Board of Selectmen, the Planning Board, Ken Swayze, Don Mayo, Town Engineer  and 6-7 bidders were also present.  The purpose of the site walk was to discuss the completion of Jacqueline Dr.

Janice discussed the Town ordinances, road projects, and the proposal for changes to Robert Rogers Rd.  A firearm provision was added to the noise ordinance. J.R. asked whether the Pioneer Club will need an exemption.  Janice will speak with Jeff Nelson.  Janice asked if the improvements to the Town Common and Robert Rogers Road included the small hill near the entrance at the community center and the school.  This was to be a project for the town to improve the site distance on Robert Rogers Road because it was dangerous.  Will check with Jeff Nelson as he prepared the proposal to DOT for the grant.

7:50 p.m.  Martha Rae, re:  properties being deeded to the Town

Martha came in to have her signature on the deeds witnessed and to have the Board sign and Janice notarize the signatures.
