DUNBARTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN

MINUTES OF MEETING

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2004

TOWN OFFICES – 7:00 P.M.

 

The regular scheduled weekly meeting of the Dunbarton Board of Selectmen was held at the above time, date and place with Chairman J. R. Swindlehurst presiding.  It was noted that the meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.  The following were present:

 

                J. R. Swindlehurst, Chairman

                Charles (Chuck) Graybill

                Mert Mann

                Janice VandeBogart, Town Administrator

 

The Selectmen signed checks.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

MOTION:

 

Mert Mann made a motion that the Dunbarton Board of Selectment appoint Gail Martel as an additional member to the Dunbarton Hearse Restoration Committee to serve with a term ending March 2006.  J. R. Swindlehurst seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

OTHER BUSINESS:

 

1.        Mert Mann noted that he had spoken to the First Meeting of the Dunbarton Student Council today. 

 

2.        J. R. Swindlehurst reported the result of the Dunbarton Town Common Scarecrow Contest as follows:

 

First Prize – Girl Scout Troop #2498

Second Prize – Garden Club

Third Prize – Ann Merrill

 

Selectmen gave Congratulations to all!

 

3.        It was noted that Gary McCubben had requested the American Legion be able to use the Town Common for their burning of the flag ceremony to be conducted on November 13, 2004. 

 

The Selectmen agreed to the use of the Common by the American Legion and stated they should obtain a “Permit to Burn” from Fred Mullen. 

 

4.        Mert Mann announced there is a Scheduled Site Walk for the Proposed Anna Chan subdivision on Gile Mill Road on Saturday, November 13, 2004 which will include the Road Agent, the Planning Board, the Conservation Commission and the Board of Selectmen. 

 

5.        Selectmen recommended that during inclement weather in the winter, that a telephone call to the Transfer Station to make sure they would be open would be suggested to residents of Dunbarton prior to driving down to the Transfer Station.

 

 

 

 

 

MOTION: 

 

Mert Mann made a motion that the Dunbarton Board of Selectmen go into a Non-Public Session with the Building Inspector to discuss personnel issues.  The motion was seconded by Charles Graybill.  The motion passed by a roll call vote as follows:

 

                Mert Mann – Yes

                Charles Graybill – Yes

                J. R. Swindlehurst – Yes

 

 

No motions or decisions were made during the Non-Public Session.

 

MOTION:

 

Charles Graybill made a motion that the Dunbarton Board of Selectmen adjourn the Non-Public Session with the Building Inspector.  The motion was seconded by Mert Mann.  The motion passed by a roll call vote as follows:

 

                Mert Mann – Yes

                Charles Graybill – Yes

                J. R. Swindlehurst – Yes

 

Janice VandeBogart, Town Administrator:

 

1.        Janice VandeBogart requested the day after Veteran’s Day off as one of her remaining vacation days.

 

The Selecmen agreed.

 

2.        Jacqueline Drive:

 

a.         Guard rails are up

b.        Monumentation has been completed

c.        Jacqueline Drive needs to be accepted by the Town as a Town Road before the end of the year. 

 

The Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing in December. 

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at  8:30 p.m.
