Other Business:
A discussion about signage on
Laura came in to get involved on a committee of the
Master Plan. Of particular interest to
her were conservation, commercial development and recreational development. Chuck indicated that he is on the Steering
Committee and will get her the minutes.
Peter may also be interested, but travels regularly. Laura can be reached at 774-2341. A discussion regarding the lighting at Pages
Corner took place. Laura felt that the
lights were acceptable.
Other Business:
Steve motioned to cancel next Thursday's meeting due
to it being Sept. 11 and Patriot's Day.
J.R. seconded the motion. The
motion carried.
Janice mentioned that the auditors would like to meet
with the Selectmen during the day in October, to discuss the comment letter and
fixed asset valuation. Steve was
familiar with this accounting principle and reviewed it.
Janice mentioned that the residents of
Chuck mentioned that Rick Antonio, of
Steve indicated that he reviewed the subdivision
approval process and that building permits should be issued after the road has
a reasonable expectation of completion.
Ken indicated that building permits are complicated and there are
numerous exceptions with permits. Ken stated
that the developer posts a bond, then can sell lots and get building permits
but no occupancy permits are issued until the road is accepted by the
town. He also stated that it is
important that the landowner knows this before they get too far into building
their home. J. R. mentioned making up a
form that the owner of the home should sign which states that the occupancy
permit will not be issued until the road is accepted so that you won’t have a
situation where the new owner is ready to move in and cannot get a CO.
A discussion regarding Tom Gleason's failed septic
system took place. Steve suggested
writing him a letter to evict him. Ken
indicated that it needs to go through the court system and that Gleason wants
to stay. J.R. mentioned that there
hasn't been any water in front of the trailer.
Steve offered to meet
with Mrs. Meehan and Ken.
Chuck asked Ken about the status of his setting up a
meeting with the State for
Ken mentioned that the Perry project is dead - it may
need special exceptions and that the wording for multi-family dwelling is
confusing.
Ken indicated that many residents have been calling
Steve Duggan. Janice feels that no one should be calling
him. Steve started a list of items to
discuss with Steve Duggan on Tuesday at
Woody was confirming that a contractor not on the
Town's list needs to go out to public bid.
The answer was "yes".
He indicated that the Transfer Station will need to be open longer
hours. A discussion regarding various ways to sell the dump truck cover that
has not sold, including selling on e-bay and at the State surplus auction took
place.
Ron indicated that he needs appointment cards for the
Steering Committee for the Master Plan.
