DUNBARTON PLANNING BOARD

PUBLIC HEARING

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2003

DUNBARTON TOWN OFFICES – 7:00 PM

 

The Dunbarton Planning Board held a Public Hearing on the above date, time and place for the purpose of THE TOWN OF DUNBARTON BUILDING INSPECTOR TO HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE STATE BUILDING CODE. 

 

Chairman James Marcou opened the public hearing and verified with the Secretary that the Public Hearing Notice had been posted in three public places throughout the Town and published in the Concord Monitor for one day in the legal time frame. 

 

The following members were present:

 

                James Marcou, Chairman

                Kenneth Swayze, Co-Chairman

                Alison Vallieres, Secretary

                Carter Higginbotham

                Brian Nordle

                George Holt

                Charles (Chuck) Graybill, Selectman

                Michael Poirier, Alternate

 

Charles Graybill explained the reason for the Town’s adopting the provision.  He stated this was State mandated.

 

Brian Nordle explained that the State is trying to get all building codes to be uniform throughout the State and ultimately through the country.  This is the minimum. 

 

At this point in the public hearing, Bruce Vaal, Building Inspector, arrived at the public hearing.  He stated that this was a State Mandated Code.  He had the actual code in written form but stated he had not had a chance to go through all of it.

 

There was no members of the public present.

 

MOTION:

 

Brian Nordle made a motion that the Dunbarton Planning Board recommend that the Town of Dunbarton give the Town of Dunbarton Bujilding Inspector the authority to enforce the provisions of the State Building Code.  The motion was seconded by Alison Vallieres.  The motion passed by a majority vote with the following vote:

 

                Nordle – Yes

                Vallieres – Yes

                Holt – Yes

                Graybill – Yes

                Higginbotham – Yes

                Poirier – Yes

                Marcou – Yes

                Swayze – Abstained

 

At this point in the meeting, there was a consensus of the Board Members that they would sign the Stillwater mylar at the next regular meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2003.  It was noted that the Board had decided several months ago to only sign plans at regularly scheduled Planning Board Meetings. 

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 pm
