MINUTES OF MEETING
April 11, 2002

7:00 p.m. Other Business:
Chuck indicated that a new committee is being formed to build a new salt shed at the Town garage. Les is the Selectmen's rep and will get the names of some individuals for next week's meeting.
J.R. indicated that at the Recycling Committee meeting, bids were received for concrete and stall work and the recommendation of the Committee was to accept the bid of G&B Concrete, which was $4,888. J.R. made a motion to accept, which was seconded by Les. The motion carried.
Cohen Steel submitted a bid for beams and to rebar at $4,399.39. J.R. motioned to accept, which was seconded by Les. The motion carried.
Janice indicated that Jim Marcou called because he wants Don Mayo to do an inspection. Chuck indicated that Jim should call him.
J.R. discussed a problem with the the 75 foot setbacks on wetlands that the Building Inspector is requiring. J.R. indicated that the Building Inspector is refusing building permits based on the 75 foot setback requirement not being met. J.R. reviewed the Town's zoning ordinances and found no wetlands setback requirement.
7:45 p.m. Martha Rae, re: tax liens on Gravel Pits
Martha discussed a change in tax law that has resulted in the activity tax being deemed unconstitutional to collect from last fall. The taxes have been rebilled as property taxes. Martha indicated that the Belanger property has a lien on it, which is now unconstitutional, and she would like to wait and see what the DRA's opinion is before taking any further action.
Martha reviewed overdue taxes from 1999, which should be deeded to the Town. She is concerned about the the Town acquiring a couple of undesirable properties. Liens were placed on 4/9.
8:05 p.m. Jeff Trexler, re: Architect's contract.
Jeff brought in the above contract, which has been edited and will be going to Town Counsel.
8:15 p.m. Tim Terragni, re: building permits form
Tim brought in the above form which he indicated will be helpful in gathering information to help with property assessments. The Board made some suggestions about improving the format and content of the form. J.R. came up with a name, which will be "Assessors Worksheet". Les suggested that Tim sit down the Building Dept. to ensure completeness of information.
9:00 p.m. J.R. made a motion, which was seconded by Les., to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried.
