MINUTES OF MEETING
August 22, 2002

7:00 p.m.,Other Business:
Chuck made a motion, which was seconded by J.R., to grant a 90 day extension to the plans of Rocko Dipetro for the lot line and subsequent 22 lot subdivision. The motion carried.
J.R. motioned, which was seconded by Les, to accept Ken Alton's resignation from the Transfer Station and Recycling Management Committee, with regret. The motion carried.
Chuck reviewed the Planning Board's approval the Tenney Hill Rd. proposed subdivision, and indicated that the trees will be cut to allow installation of the culvert. Everything the Selectmen wanted was agreed to.
Road Agent, Jan VandeBogart: An informal discussion took place between Road Agent, Jan VandeBogart and resident Ron Slocum. The Road Agent relayed his displeasure regarding comments made by Mr. Slocum at a recent Planning Board meeting where Mr. Slocum stated that in regard to the removal of trees on Tenney Hill Road that the Selectmen and the Road Agent “do as they please”. The Road Agent stated that this was an unfair statement and that the Selectmen and the Road Agent have a job to do and certainly do not “do as they please” but try to follow the wishes of the landowners. Selectman Swindlehurst backed up the Road Agent’s statements.
7:40 p.m. Bud Marcou, re: hearse
Les asked if Bud would allow the hearse to be stored in the barn belonging to his mother, Beverly Marcou. He agreed and it was decided that the hearse would be brought to the barn on Monday evening.
7:50 p.m., Other Business:
Janice and J.R. won't be at next week's meeting because they will be attending the Demolition Derby at the Hopkinton State Fair.
Janice asked what the procedure was to accept a road for subdivision. Chuck indicated that the Board needs to receive, in writing, a recommendation from Don Mayo, the road agent and Planning Board, and it requires a public hearing.
Chuck asked Janice if Jan was working on putting the size requirements for hammerheads in writing. Janice will ask him. Chuck reviewed Michele Belanger's subdivision, specifically the unacceptable cul-de-sacs.
Chuck and Janice discussed the proposed purchase of the Neers property.
Chuck asked Janice if the tax maps have been updated. Janice indicated that they have not yet been updated and that the maps are working out well. Les inquired about the overlay.
Janice reviewed problems with the office's software program, including the lack of updates and that it still utilizes DOS. Les wants Janice to "scream" at them.
8:25 p.m. Woody Bowne, re: personnel matter
J.R. motioned, which was seconded by Les, to go into nonpublic session pursuant to RSA 91-A. The motion carried.
Les called Rick Kincaid, regarding an alleged incident involving an employee, regarding a dump sticker. The employee made a statement, which was telephonically refuted by Rick.
8:45 p.m. J.R. motioned, which was seconded by Les, to end the nonpublic session. The motion carried.
Woody updated the Board on the transfer station. The compactor is expected in the second week of September.
Rick Kincaid called and indicated that he had called the employee and apologized.
8:50 p.m., Other Business
J.R. asked that Jan clean up the tree stumps on Black Brook Rd.
9:00 p.m., Les motioned, which was seconded by J.R., to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried.
