Chairman, Chuck Graybill, was on vacation and Selectman, J. R. Swindlehurst, was attending classes tonight.
7:30 PM: Chairman, Jim Marcou and Co-Chairman, Ken Swayze, of the Planning Board were in to meet with the Selectmen and Mike Brown and Gary Chicoine from Cimray Homes regarding the VandeBogart subdivision. Building Inspector, Bruce Vaal was also present.
Mike Brown stated that he has been working with town Engineer, Don Mayo, and that phase I of the subdivision road, Jay Drive, so called, is near completion. Don Mayo submitted a report (attached). Brown stated that the sub-grade is on and will be hauling screened loan for shoulders. The first coat of asphalt is due to be put down by Thursday, August 8th and the utility company will be in shortly after to install poles. Brown discuss the temporary turn around at the end of phase I and if it was acceptable with the boards he would like to put gravel down for now because he wanted to push on and complete the second phase of the road. He also wanted to know what the town required to be put in place to insure the finish coat on the road.
Ken Swayze stated that the Planning Board runs the bonding process. A bond, letter of credit or cash would be required to be given to the town for the finish coat of the road. Ken stated that three estimates would be required. The planning board would also require 10% extra. Ken stated that Cimray would be put on the planning board agenda for August 21st to meet with the planning board. Ken agreed that if Cimray got three estimates to him before the meeting that they could come to the planning board meeting with the bond or letter of credit in place and if the planning board agreed, they would sign the mylar for the first phase of the Vandebogart subdivision at that time. He also stated that he would have to get a complete report from Don Mayo prior to the meeting.
Mike Brown stated that he would like to continue along with the second phase of the road as soon as the base coat was on the first phase. It was agreed that he could

start at his own risk at any time. Also, it was agreed that he could place gravel at the turn around because it is to be temporary. This may be part of the bond amount. Also if he is unable to place hydro-seed on slopes because of the weather this would be included in the bond.
Building permits can be issued after the planning board signs the mylar but no Occupancy Permits will be granted until the road has been accepted by the town. Acceptance of the road is done by the Board of Selectmen after they are satisfied that the road meets all town regulations and approval by town engineer, Don Mayo.
John Turner, Assistant Building Inspector: John Turner was in to discuss the new state building code with the Selectmen. Secretary, Tomi Salzman, will order code books for the building office and for the Selectmen’s office. Also, Les Hammond asked to have her check to see if the state offered any classes on the new code.
Motion to adjourn was made by Les Hammond, at 8:50 PM and seconded by Les Hammond, vote was in the affirmative.
