The recycling committee was formed with one purpose in mind:  to come up with ideas to increase recycling within the town of Dunbarton.

The committee talked about Household Hazardous Waste Day, which will be October 18th, 2003 at the Bow Community Center.  Committee members will meet at the Transfer Station at 7:30am the morning of the 18th.  Three members will take the truck to Bow while one member remains at the Transfer Station to hand out brochures and give directions

The committee talked about starting a recycling program in the school.  We will try to get a person from the Northeast Resource Recovery Association to talk at the next recycling meeting.  The committee will look into possible incentives for the school for their recycling efforts.

The committee also spoke about having mandatory recycling in all town buildings.  This will go through the Board of Selectman and they will notify the departments regarding this.

The committee also talked about the “Pay as you Throw” program.

The Recycling Committee will next meet on November 6th at the Dunbarton Transfer Station at 7:00pm.
