Dunbarton Recreation Commission

Minutes of October 27, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 8:00pm.

Present: Annie Carney, Terri Francoeur, Jeff Nelson, Jean Leo, Kim Vaillancourt, Karen Lessard

Basketball Update: Season going well. Jeff Nelson, Terri Francoeur and Jean Leo are talking with Brent Rogers (DES Principal) and After School Program to secure gym time at 5pm for Recreational Programming to help our teams become competitive with leagues they are in. Jeff has drafted a letter to the school board to clearly state our position.

In keeping with confidentiality rules we have drafted a permission form to be signed by parents for treatment and transport of an injured player. Jeff N. made a motion to accept the form, Seconded by Terri F. Vote was unanimous.

Recreation Commission By-Laws: Discussion over draft of by-laws. Minor changes made. Jeff made motion to accept by-laws. Seconded by Karen . Vote was unanimous. Jeff N. will give copy to Selectmen.

Budget items discussed: keep trip to Boston, no Flower Show trip, budget money for Old Home Day, need to refinish gym floor (was scheduled to be done this past summer – company went out of business), basketball – self funding, softball (hope to have Farm league program), Halloween, Easter and Tree Lighting, portable toilet rental. Tentative total is $6000. Jeff will look into floor refinishing and Jim Starr may need additional funds for field improvements.

Outdoor basketball hoops were discussed and will be a project to research for next year along with land for new fields/playground.
