Dunbarton Recreation Commission

Minutes of March 18, 2004

Present: Terri Francoeur, Kim Vaillancourt, Annie Carney, Karen Lessard & Jean Leo

Public Comment: First draft of Rec’s Policies and Procedures was handed out. Request for e-mail was made. Rec decided to have copies of drafts available at monthly meeting and then will leave copies at the town offices for any interested parties.

Flower Show: The group had a good time. Larger number than last year.

High School Basketball: During high school basketball on Feb. 21 a few younger youths tried to get in the gym. Rec decided to talk with Chief Nelson about patrolling the area when any Rec activities are going on.

Shed: A 50% deposit was paid to Outdoor Storage Solutions for the 12 x 12 storage shed. Construction should start in late April. Kim V. will obtain building permit.

Electric/benches: Rec will continue to seek bids for electrical work in gym and to find suitable benches.

Ski Program: Kim V. will look into discounted season passes at Crotched Mountain or Pat’s Peak for Dunbarton Rec to sponsor for town.

Trips:

Fenway- Small group discount rate for weekday games while school is in session. Rec will look into Nashua Pride and a few other local teams.

Yankee Candle: Rec will sponsor a bus trip to Yankee Candle in Deerfield, MA in October.

Foxwoods: Rec will look into trip to Foxwoods.

RSA’s: Terri Francoeur will compile copies of RSA’s for non-public session for Rec members.

Officers: Chair – Terri Francoeur;Vice Chair – Annie Carney; Secretary – Jean Leo; Treasurer – Karen Lessard. Committee will vote in April.

Easter Egg Hunt: Sat. April 10 at 10am. Rec will get prizes, candy etc. Easter Bunny is scheduled to visit!
