Dunbarton Ethics Committee

Minutes of meetings are subject to final approval at the next scheduled meeting.

Present: Nick Holmes, Brigitte Cook, Gary McCubbin and Jackie Kennedy

Nick called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.

Motion to accept the minutes of May 19, 2005 was made by Jackie, second Gary. Motion passed.

There was no mail.

The Committee reviewed the revised Ethics Complaint form. Motion by Nick to adopt the revised Ethics Complaint form as prepared by Brett, second Gary. Motion passed.

Discussion of upcoming committee vacancy on Ethics Committee.

1. The Ethics Code requires that all members of the Ethics Committee be residents of the Town of Dunbarton.
2. Jackie Kennedy and her husband are moving out of Dunbarton.
3. Accordingly, Jackie has submitted her resignation from the Ethics Committee effective August 1, 2005.
4. The Ethics Code provides that when a vacancy on the committee occurs the remaining members shall elect a town citizen to serve the remainder of the vacated term. Any tie vote by the committee shall be resolved by the vote of the Town Moderator.

A notice regarding the vacancy will be drafted by Nick and will appear on the Ethics Committee Web page, two public bulletin boards, the transfer station and the Town Offices. The notice will ask that anyone who is interested in serving on the committee contact either Nick Holmes or Brett St. Clair or a letter of intent may be sent to the Town Administrator. Those seeking to serve will be asked to meet with the committee at the next scheduled meeting Thursday 28 July at 7:30 at the Town Offices.

Motion to adjourn was made by Gary, second Nick. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Committee will be Thursday 28 July 2005.
